Hyaluronic acid fillers

Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance occuring in the human body. It binds water and keeps skin elastic and tight. The amount of hyaluronic acid decreases with age causing wrinkles to appear and the skin to loose its elasticity. We can reverse this by injecting hyaluronic acid fillers into the skin. We are able to fill wrinkles, folds, regenerate skin elasticity. Fillers are also used to regain or increase volume eg of the lips, cheeks, jaw line. The effect will last for up to two years.

Hyaluronic acid is the most commonly used filler. It is safe and it gets absorbed by the body naturally.

Hyaluronic acid is most often used t correct:

– forhead wrinkles
– crows feet (around the eyes)
– glabellar wrinkles (between the eyebrows)

Pregnandy and breast feeding. Medications such as antibiotick, blood thinning medication. Neurological diseases. Allergy to botulinum toxin components. Infection in the area planned for treatement.

After medical consultation, individual treatment plan is made according to patients expectations. Anaesthetic cream is usually applied before the treatment. Hyaluronic acid is then injected in the treated area to achieve the desired effect.

After the procedure the patient may go back to normal everyday activities.

After the procedure – what to expect?
Swelling and small bruises may appear. All those effects dissapear afeter a few days.

Do I need to repeat the treatement?
The effect of hyaluronic acid injections last for 1-2 years depending on the type of hyaluronic acid used. If you wish to repeat the treatement you can. It will give a better effect when repeated.

Side effects
Very rare. Usually due to the injection itself-small swelling, redness which dissapear aftera a couple of minutes. Small bruises may appear.

After the procedure you may go back to your normal everyday activities.

It is recommended that for 7-10 days after the procedure you should avoid intense physical training, sunbeds, sun, sauna.
